Brockport: Passed away peacefully on Thursday December 17, 2009. Survived by his devoted wife of 31 years, Debra M. Cody, loving daughter Sara Lillian Cody-Carey, son-in-law Matthew S. Carey, dearest friend and legal assistant, Darlene J. Nichols, his parents, Leo and Lillian Cody, brothers Leo II (Debra A.), James, Gerard (Jane), nieces Michelle and Grace, nephews Leo III, Matthew and Liam, beloved brother-in-law to Cheryl (John) Malley, Donna (Bill) Fullerton, Pamela (Ewing) Parker and Scott (Karen) Ewing, nieces Lisa, Jennifer, Marisa and McKenna, nephews Curtis, Richard, Gregory, Brian, Michael, Christopher and Earl, son-in-law to Earl C. Ewing and Rosalie D. Ewing.


Mr. Cody was a member of the NY State and Massachusetts Bar Associations, practicing law in the Village of Brockport since 1982, the Town of Sweden Justice since 2001, member of the NY State Magistrates Association, member and past President of the Monroe County Magistrates Association. He was a devout Roman Catholic, parishioner and lector of the Nativity Church of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Mr. Cody was also a member of the Knights of Columbus since 1980, past Grand Knight of Webster Council, and past District Deputy.


Friends may call Sunday from 1-4 and 6-8 at the Fowler Funeral Home Inc. 340 West Ave, Brockport. A Funeral Mass will be held Monday, December 21, 2009 10:00 AM at the Nativity Church of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Interment, Mt. Olivet Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to Nativity Church (Martha Ministry, RCIA and or Mt. Olivet Cemetery), or to the Hildebrandt Hospice Care Center.
