Richard A Lorek, 56, of Brockport, NY passed away suddenly in Fredonia, NY on Friday January 6th. He was born to Richard Lorek (predeceased) and Lauren Ackroyd (Welch) on October 21,1966 in Lockbourne Air Force Base, OH. He leaves behind his beloved son, Jacob Lorek, brothers Michael (Mary) Lorek, Steven Lorek, and Christopher Ackroyd. Richard also leaves behind uncle Tom Welch, aunt Darlene (Carmen) Newtown, nephews Brandon (Rebecca) Lorek and Aiden Lorek, niece Brittney (Nathaniel) Gustke, great nephew Joseph, great nieces Charlotte and Harper, cousins Cyrena, Kelly, Shelly (Bryan), Tammy (John), David (Kristina), Janaya, Robbie, Jack, Jeff, Jimmy, and many others including aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. He was predeceased by his step father, Christopher Ackroyd, uncle Dennis Lorek, and aunt Trish Lawson.




Rich was raised in the Brockport area, and lived there most of his life. He graduated from Brockport High School in 1984, and was very proud of his diploma. Rich went on to work in various construction trades throughout his life including plumbing, flooring, and most recently solar panel installations. He was incredibly excited for the birth of his son, Jacob in 1994, and loved him dearly. Rich never married, but family was very important to him, as were his close friends.




Richie was known for being the life of the party, always ready to have a good time. He was warm and friendly. Richie will be remembered fondly for his jokes, exaggerated stories and for his kindness. A social person and friend to all, Richie would make friends anywhere that he went and at any job that he had. If he was at an event, everyone would be welcomed with open arms. He enjoyed playing with his great nieces and nephew and would spend all of the time he could with them and the rest of his family.




Calling hours will be held at Fowler Funeral Home, 340 West Avenue Brockport, NY on Saturday January 14, 2023 12:00pm-3:30pm with a Prayer at 3:30pm at Fowler Funeral Home.
