Gerard "Jerry" Pinkerton

1954-2022

Brockport: Jerry passed on Monday April 11, 2022 surrounded by his loving family. He is predeceased by his parents Veronica and Richard Pinkerton.

Jerry is survived by his loving wife of 42 years Nancy; his son Jeff and wife Jane, grandson Dean; his daughter Beth and wife Julianne; his sister Bonnie, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews, and countless other friends considered family.

Jerry lived a full and vibrant life focused on his family and service to others. He embodied service before self and always set his personal interests and priorities aside to help others around him. Jerry was an avid outdoorsman, conservationist, and community servant leader. He touched and bettered the lives of so very many through his years of service as an Emergency Medical Technician in Monroe County and volunteered countless hours with local Boy Scout units providing sage outdoor knowledge and leadership skills to community youth.

Jerry was happiest surrounded by friends and family while in the kitchen preparing meals large or small, at a campground enjoying the outdoors, or near any kind of shoreline.

He was especially proud of his new moniker earned later in life of “Grampy” which his Grandson Dean lovingly bestowed upon him.

Jerry loved his children with everything he had and everything he was made of. When his daughter came out as gay, it was Jerry who wrapped his arms around her and said "I love you even more." Jerry signed off on every text to his daughter with, "In Love and Pride, Dad."

Jerry opened his home for countless people, whether it be family or one of his children's friends who had nowhere to go for a holiday. His kids' friends still talk about the late night dinners Jerry would make for them.

When the day is done, really what Jerry was, was love. Fierce love that extended beyond the doors of his home and went throughout the community in his acts of service.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that in support of Jerry’s wishes those who desire may make a donation to one of the charities below which he supported. Should you desire, please use nanigoat@gmail.com as the recipient email to ensure the family is notified of your donation.
