Betty Barber

Brockport: Born September 21, 1927 in Rochester, NY. She passed away peacefully on Tuesday April 30, 2019 at the age of 91. Predeceased by her husband of 66 years, Peter J. Barber. She is survived by her son Peter (Eileen), daughter Gail (Bryan) Popowich, grandsons Kevin, Patrick, Scott and Eric, great grandson Casey, great granddaughter Alexandra, sisters Helen (Dick) Rubino, Barbara (Gary) Webster, brothers Harold Brundage, Richard (Betty) Brundage, nieces and nephews.

Betty graduated from Brockport Central School in 1945. She attended Brockport State Teachers College before marrying Peter in 1946. She worked in food service at Lakeside Memorial Hospital in Brockport where she retired after thirty five years as Food Service Director.

She was also a charter member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Brockport Post #2890 Auxiliary and life member of the VFW, serving as Monroe County President in 1964.

There will be no prior calling hours. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday May 6th at 10:00 am in the Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, 152 Main Street Brockport. Inurnment will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, those wishing may contribute to the Nativity BVM building fund.
